Welcome to the mini-course on Developing Flash Games.
This is a four section micro course on developing a simple shooter game from start to finish using Macromedia Flash 8 as our main software package. We'll be coding everything in ActionScript, Flash's scripting language, and designing elements in both Maxon's Cinema 4D, Flash, and Ableton Live.
You don't need the other software to still be able to follow along, and the elements, or assets, will be provided for download to allow you to learn just the Flash stuff if that interests you.
This is not meant to be a comprehensive guide to game development or ActionScript or Flash, but rather is meant to be an overview of the concepts and way of thinking involved in game creation.
The first section is online now, and is a primer on fundemental programming concepts as they relate to Flash and ActionScript.
